This New 89-Foot Yacht Embodies Made in Italy Excellence

The boutique Italian yard, which has been crafting traditional gozzos on the Gulf of Naples since 1849, launched its new flagship motor yacht over the weekend. The 89-footer marks the debut of the Maestro line, signaling a thrilling new chapter for Apreamare.

Apreamare CEO Cataldo Aprea conceived the Maestro range during the Genoa Boat Show in 2005. The inaugural yachts in the series were planing trawlers designed for stylish high-seas navigation. The modern successor, simply known as the Maestro 88, retains the elegant lines of its predecessors but features a semi-planing hull for enhanced stability and an updated layout for increased comfort.

The first fully custom navetta (meaning “small ship” in Italian) was designed for a repeat client. It boasts exteriors and interiors by Umberto Tagliavini of Marine Design and naval architecture by Marco Casali of Too Design. The "all Italian" cruiser showcases the finest local craftsmanship, thanks to the contributions of suppliers and artisans from Campania.

With a beam of 22 feet and an interior volume of 90 GT, the Maestro 88 offers a spacious interior that can accommodate up to 20 guests. The living quarters can be customized to the owner's preferences, though the standard configuration places the accommodation on the lower deck and the entertaining areas on the main deck and flybridge.

The owner of the first hull chose four en suite cabins, plus a “studio” with a relaxation corner and electric piano (which can be swapped for a fifth guest cabin). Guests will enjoy numerous relaxation spots, including a light and airy salon on the main deck, a sizable swim platform at the stern, a plush lounge in the bow, and a scenic bar on the flybridge.

In terms of power, the first Maestro 88 is equipped with a pair of MAN V-12 engines delivering 2,000 hp for a top speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 22 knots. Alternatively, owners can opt for twin MAN V-12s with 1,600 hp for a top speed of 23 knots and a cruising speed of 17 knots. We know which setup we'd prefer.
