Amazon and Hyundai have revealed plans to commence the online sale of Hyundai vehicles in the United States starting in 2024, as announced on Thursday. This collaboration allows customers to browse, customize, and purchase a car directly on Amazon.com, with delivery arrangements made through a local Hyundai dealer.
This development builds upon a partnership initiated two years ago to enhance Hyundai's digital showroom on Amazon.com. The initial collaboration enabled customers to configure a vehicle, determine the price, and locate a dealer to finalize the purchase. Hyundai initially established its first digital showroom on Amazon in 2018.
The updated agreement, unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show, includes a provision for buyers of new Hyundai vehicles in 2025 to access Amazon's Alexa voice assistant directly from their cars.
Hyundai Motor CEO Jay Chang expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Partnering with one of the world’s most customer-centric organizations unlocks incredible opportunities as we continue to expand our portfolio, grow our sales network, transition to electrification, and realize the future of smart mobility.” XW XW XW XW XW XW XW XW XW
